I’m registered for the Memphis St. Jude marathon in December, and raising some serious money to support their mission.

If you are not aware, St. Jude is one of the top children’s cancer research and treatment hospitals on the planet. With the support of contributors like you they are able to treat children living with cancer completely for free. On top of that they are making tremendous strides in treating cancer, developing treatments that reduce pain and longer term effects, and that work to make treatment occur in as short a time as possible, so children can return to their families and their lives.

I was inspired to run for St. Jude from seeing the results of what it has done for a friend.

But, you must agree with me, fundraisers are just fun. Anyone who listens to NPR knows this.

And what do we love most about NPR fundraisers?

The premiums!!

Unfortunately I gave away most of my totebags, and only have a few CDs of “The Best of a Celtic Sojourn” remaining from a particularly enthusiastic pledge drive a few years back.

But never to fear. I have several premiums that I can offer to donors who are willing to part with any dollar amount to help with St. Jude’s goals.

• $40 - personalized video of a DIALOGUE from one of your favorite movies (or mine) - I play both characters! Two for the price of some! (Also, sliding scale - I’ll do more characters for more money. Just let me know how many characters are involved and how much you’re willing to pay. E.g., I’ll do the inspiring battle monologue from Braveheart WITH each and every one of the background actors for $10,000)
• $80 - I’ll make a custom graphic tee design inspired by you
• $150 - I will meet you anywhere in the US Northeast for a celebrity meet and greet, run, or general chores
• $500 - I will fly/drive/moped anywhere outside the US Northeast for a celebrity meet and greet, run, or chores (as long as travel cost is under $500ish)
